 Details of the manufacturing

Patolakaturohinyadi kwath has6 ingredients.

Six of them are taken in equal quantity. All these ingredients should be washed well and dried up in the shade.

Take the prescribed herbs in dried & crushed form in an earthen pot. Now add 16 times water into it. Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity to one by eighth of the initial quantity. Make sure to mix it in between with a wooden spatula. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Once the quantity is reduced to one by eighth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. Drink the mild warm decoction.

Usage:

  • Kashayam is advised to take an empty stomach, once the ingested food is digested well and aahaararasa is formed well.
  • Usage of kashayam with prescribed prakshepadravyas according to the condition of the disease and the patient gives the best results mostly.
  • As Patolakaturohinyadi combination is mentioned as a Gana, it can be used as any Kalpana (preparation) like kashaya, choorna,arishta, asava, ghrita or taila.
  • The most famous and widely used formulation is Patolakaturohinyadi kashayam . Patoladi arishtam and asavam are used for skin diseases in children.

Exercises and Yoga.

It is used for a wide variety of ailments.

Exercise should be decided considering the disease also. While it is used in joint diseases, vigorous exercises are not allowed in painful conditions. Only stretching, moderate walking, and mild cardio exercises are advised. Also, specific yogacharya including bhujangaasana, salabhasana, vajrasana is recommended. Range of movement and flexibility must be considered while doing every exercise. Sookshma sandhi vyayama (warming up small joints) is advised. Regular exercise helps improve the bioavailability of the medicine and food ingested, leading to positive health.

Yoga can maintain harmony within the body and with the surrounding system.

Eyestrain is a common ailment that develops when your eyes become fatigued from prolonged use, such as long distance driving or staring at screens of computers and other electronic devices.

Eye strain can be bothersome. However, it typically doesn’t cause any significant problems and goes away once you rest your eyes or take other measures to ease your eye discomfort. Eyestrain symptoms may occasionally be a sign of a more serious eye issue that requires medical attention.

Causes

Typical reasons of eye fatigue include:

Exposure to dry interior air brought on by HVAC systems

General exhaustion and stress that impairs your ability to concentrate

Underlying vision issues, such as unfixed refractive errors

Prolonged use of digital devices

Continual long-term reading

Driving a long distance

Pathophysiology

The most plausible explanation is that poor viewing conditions induce the orbicularis oculi muscle’s orbital part to contract, which causes the eyelids to squint in an effort to improve eyesight. It has been demonstrated that this causes a secondary reduction in eye lid blinking, leading to dry eye diseases.

Diagnosis

A doctor’s diagnosis of eye strain is based on the patient’s history and the lack of any major eye conditions. There are no precise tests to demonstrate that eye strain is the cause of the symptoms. The degree of eye strain cannot be measured scientifically.

Treatment

Letting the eyes rest.

Raising the room’s humidity and altering the workspace to lessen reflections, glare, and strong lighting.

Putting on the appropriate prescription eyewear or changing the typeface. Large-frame eyewear reduces air flow across the ocular surface, reducing dryness. Conversely, using contact lenses makes the dryness worse.

Prognosis

There is no eye harm associated with the eye strain symptom. The outlook is therefore excellent. The aforementioned methods typically result in the symptoms of eye strain being relieved.

Description

All five elements are necessary for preserving the health of the eyes because they are one of the most vital organs according to Ayurveda. The muscle portion of the eye is governed by earth (prithivi), the blood vessels are governed by fire (tejas), the colour is governed by vayu, the white portion is dominated by water (apu), and the tear ducts and channels are governed by space (akasha).According to ayurvedic studies, an imbalance in the vata, pitta, or kapha doshas, one of the three doshas, is what causes eye disorders.

Causes

Dryness, blurred vision, and eyestrain are frequently symptoms of vata eye problems.

Burning, inflammation, yellow pus, and redness are all symptoms of a pitta imbalance.

Vision impairment, glaucoma, cataracts, thick pus, and wet eyes are all symptoms of kapha imbalance.

Netra basti

Netra Basti is a common Ayurvedic eye therapy in which medicated ghee is poured into a dough dam that has been formed around each eye. The oil enters the eye while the eyes are still open, curing a variety of conditions. If your eyes are itchy, dry, red, watery, uncomfortable, worn out, or swollen, Netra Basti is recommended. Additionally, this treatment is utilised to improve eyesight, stop retinal degeneration, and treat glaucoma. Please be aware that Netra Basti should only be performed by a competent Ayurvedic specialist, practitioner, or physician.

Tarpana: According to the nature and stage of the illness, specialised medicated ghee of choice (such as Triphala ghrita, Maha triphala ghrita, Jeevantyadi ghrita, Amalaka ghrita, Yashti ghrita, etc.) is filled within a well formed around the eyeball and retained for 5–10 minutes. Following this, the appropriate oleation, sudation, etc.

Putapaka swarasa – Similar to the aforementioned approach, medicated fresh juice obtained through the sudation (putapaka method) of medications such as Agasthya, Eranda, etc. is poured into a container before the procedure is completed.

Aschotana: 1-2 drops of medicated fresh juice, processed ghee, etc. are injected into the eyes.

Seka: Pouring fresh juices or calming concoctions will aid to reduce fatigue and strain.

Pindi-The medicinal paste placed over closed eyelids has been proven to be very effective in reducing eyestrain.

  1. Cross your legs while you sit in the easy pose known as Sukhasana, keeping your neck, head and spine in a straight line. Breathe regularly while maintaining an eye-level frontal gaze. Keep your eyes moving up and down for two seconds. Take two seconds to close your eyes. Spend two seconds glancing to the right, left, and front. For 6 to 8 seconds, close your eyes. This ends the current round. Start with two to three rounds and work your way up to four.
  2. Combine the two palms. The right palm should be placed over the right eye, and the left palm should be placed lightly over the left eye. Avoid pressing the eyes. To relieve stress, take slow, even breaths in and out. 3 or more times.
  3. Bhujangasana (snake posture), Surya Namaskara (sun salutations), and Shavasana (rest position) are other asanas that support the eyes.
  4. Take a comfortable posture while sitting upright. Siddhasana, Sukhasana, or Padmasana are forward-extended poses where you extend both arms to the shoulder. This kriya improves mental stability and focus, fortifies the optic nerves, and treats eye weakness and some eye ailments. If done before going to bed at night, it treats insomnia.
  5. Engage in nadi shodhan (alternate breathing) pranayama to improve your vision. Always begin with the left nostril and finish there.
  6. Frequent blinking offers the eyes a little rest and moistens the eyelashes

The chronic inflammation of the eyelids is referred to as blepharitis. Inflammation can also develop in the conjunctiva, the membrane that covers the eyelid and the eyeball. A common ailment, blepharitis frequently affects otherwise healthy persons. Rarely can the condition endanger the eye itself or result in irreversible vision loss.

Symptoms

The following chronic symptoms may result from eyelid inflammation:

Pathophysiology

A bacterial colonisation of the eyelids during the early stages of blepharitis results in a direct invasion of germs. As a result of the microbial invasion, pathogenic alterations appear.

In the presence of meibomian gland dysfunction or seborrheic dermatitis, colonisation of the lid margin is increased.

Diagnosis

The doctor correctly examines the eyelid to get the diagnosis.

Apply baby shampoo diluted in warm water on a clean washcloth, cotton swab (Q-tip), or lint-free pad. Once you’ve done that, use it to gently clean the base of your eyelashes. Rub for approximately 15 seconds.

Antibiotics

You could be instructed by your ophthalmologist to apply an antibiotic eye ointment. Apply a small amount of ointment on a Q-tip or a clean fingertip. Apply the cream sparingly to the root of your eyelashes. If your doctor advises it, do this right before bed. Additionally, your doctor could advise you to take an oral antibiotic medication.

Eye drops

Redness, swelling, and dry eyes may be reduced using artificial tears or steroid eye drops. Your ophthalmologist can advise an antibiotic eye solution to improve the function of the oil glands.

Skin and Eyelid hygiene

Maintaining clean eyelids, skin, and hair is crucial. This controls the symptoms of your blepharitis. Every day, gently wash your eyelashes with warm water and baby shampoo. Use an antibacterial shampoo to wash your eyebrows, scalp, and hair as well. There are several new antiseptic sprays that you can apply to the skin to prevent excessive bacterial growth.

Omega-3s (fish oil)

Omega-3 fatty acids may improve the function of the eyelid oil glands and provide symptom relief for certain persons.

Prognosis

Rarely does it totally vanish. The problem is typically chronic and necessitates daily care with eyelid washes, even with effective treatment. The condition could be brought on by a localised eyelid cancer if it doesn’t improve after therapy, if you’ve also lost your eyelashes, or if only one of your eyes is afflicted.

YOGA FOR BLEPHARITIS

Nadi Shuddi Pranayam – relieves blepharitis-related eye irritations while calming the mind.

The patient must be seated in a relaxed, contemplative position with the head and spine upright. The patient must use his thumb to cover one nostril (the left nostril if using the right hand, and the other nostril if using the left hand) and fully exhale through the other nostril. He will have to breathe in deeply once more through the other nostril while maintaining the thumb-shut position of the opposite nostril.

To hasten the effects of the treatment, pranyama and savasana can be practised. Following the course of treatment using Ayurvedic techniques, Trataka kriya is strongly advised for eye care. Blepharitis can also be treated with the use of the Varuna and Jala Samhar mudras.

DIET RECOMMENDATIONS (AAHAR)

Ghee, milk, rock salt, honey, patola (snake gourd), red rice, green gramme, wheat, triphala (3 fruits), carrots, and leafy vegetables are among the foods that should be consumed every day.

Foods like sour foods, dry meat, alcohol, certain marine seafood, curd, cigarettes, too hot and fatty foods should be avoided.

LIFESTYLE CHANGES (VIHAR)

It is important to practise good personal cleanliness, especially to avoid coming into touch with infected people.

To protect yourself from UV rays, put on protective eyewear like sunglasses and headgear like hats.

Make sure you frequently receive quality rest.

Extra heartbeats known as premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) start in one of the heart’s two ventricles, the lower pumping chambers. These extra beats throw off the normal heart rhythm, which can occasionally give the chest the sensation of fluttering or skipping beats.

Symptoms

Many times, there are no symptoms at all from premature ventricular contractions. However, the additional beats can result in odd chest sensations like:

Fluttering

jumping or pounding

omitted or skipped beats

Causes

There are several drugs that might produce premature ventricular contractions, including decongestants and antihistamines.

stimulants like tobacco or coffee

Pathophysiology

Extrasystoles or tachyarrhythmias can cause the feeling of palpitations. Due to bradycardia, it is very infrequently noticed. Numerous terms can be used to describe palpitations. Most frequently, people describe a fluttering or pounding sensation in the neck or a flip-flopping sensation in the chest. The symptoms’ description may give insight into the cause of the palpitations, and each of these descriptions is thought to have a unique pathophysiology.  The palpitations are thought to be brought on by additional systoles, such as supraventricular or ventricular premature contractions, in patients who report them as a momentary flip-flopping in the chest. It is believed that the powerful contraction that follows the pause causes the flip-flop sensation, and that the pause causes the feeling that the heart has stopped. It is believed that a persistent ventricular or supraventricular arrhythmia causes the impression of rapid fluttering in the chest. Furthermore, a paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia may be the cause of this arrhythmia’s abrupt cessation.  If the patient can use Valsalva manoeuvres to stop the palpitations, this is further encouraged. The palpitations’ rhythm can help determine their cause; for example, irregularly irregular palpitations can point to atrial fibrillation as the cause. Atrioventricular dissociation, which results in the atria contracting in opposition to closed mitral and tricuspid valves to produce cannon A waves, can cause an erratic hammering in the neck.  Exercise-induced palpitations may be indicative of channelopathies, ischemia, or cardiomyopathy.

Prognosis

Don’t use illicit substances. Heart palpitations can be caused by some substances, including cocaine and amphetamines.

Celiac Disease- Ayurvedic Treatment, Diet, Exercises, Research Papers, Yoga & Pranayama

The autoimmune condition Celiac Disease, also known as coeliac disease, is characterized by an aberrant immune response to gluten, a protein present in wheat, barley, and rye. Gluten consumption in those with celiac disease causes an immune response that harms the small intestine, particularly the villi, which line the small intestine. The nutrients from meals cannot be absorbed as a result of this injury.

Symptoms

Gastrointestinal symptoms include nausea, vomiting, bloating, diarrhea, and constipation.

Non-digestive symptoms include depression, mouth ulcers, dermatitis herpetiformis, anemia, bone and joint discomfort, and exhaustion.

Causes

Although the precise causation of Celiac Disease is unknown, it seems to be a result of a mix of hereditary and environmental factors. Both the presence of gluten in the diet and specific genes enhance the likelihood of acquiring the disease.

Pathophysiology

People who have Celiac Disease develop antibodies, notably anti-tissue transglutaminase (tTG) antibodies because their immune systems wrongly perceive gluten as a threat. These antibodies trigger an inflammatory reaction that harms the small intestine’s villi, causing villous atrophy and flattening. This results in malabsorption, which impairs the normal intake of nutrients.

Diagnosis

There are numerous steps involved in the diagnosis of Celiac Disease:

a blood test Initial screening involves checking the levels of certain antibodies, such as anti-endomysial antibodies (EMA) and antibodies against tissue transglutaminase (tTG).

Endoscopic biopsy: An endoscopy is carried out to collect a tiny tissue sample from the small intestine if blood tests indicate Celiac Disease. The biopsy aids in determining the degree of intestinal villi destruction.

Treatment

A stringent gluten-free diet must be followed for the rest of one’s life as the main treatment for Celiac Disease. This entails abstaining from all gluten-containing foods and goods, such as those made from wheat, barley, rye, and their derivatives. It is okay to eat gluten-free substitutes and naturally gluten-free foods such as fruits, vegetables, meats, and dairy products. To correct nutritional deficits, people may occasionally need supplementary vitamins.

Prognosis

For those with Celiac Disease, the prognosis is typically positive with rigorous adherence to a gluten-free diet. Intestinal villi can regenerate, and symptoms typically get better with time. To guarantee correct management of the illness, however, constant monitoring and follow-up with healthcare specialists are required.

Celiac Disease is frequently referred to in Ayurveda as “Grahani Roga” or “Grahani Dosha.” Roga or Dosha denotes illness or an imbalance, while Grahani is the term for the small intestine. Ayurvedic principles define Grahani Roga as a digestive condition that interferes with digestion and nutrient absorption and has an impact on how the small intestine functions.

Agnimandya (weak digestion): It is believed that grahni doshas are mostly caused by poor digestion. It may be caused by irregular eating patterns, overeating on dense, difficult-to-digest foods, or a weak digestive fire (agni).

Consuming unsuitable food combinations, such as milk with fish or fruits with dairy products, might result in the development of grahni doshas.

Ama (toxic accumulation): Ama, a toxic chemical produced by defective digestion, can accumulate and play a role in the emergence of the grahni doshas.

Mental factors: Stress, worry, and mental problems can all disrupt the digestive system and cause grahni doshas to become active.

Poorvaroopana (Premonitory symptoms):

Aversion to food  _ A strong distaste of some foods or a general indifference in eating are both examples of food aversion.

Agnimandya: Poor digestion that causes heaviness, bloating, and incomplete bowel evacuation.

Abdominal discomfort _Uncomfortable feelings in the belly, such as pain, swelling, or cramping.

Malaise: A feeling of general ache, lassitude, or weakness.

Samprapti

The following steps are involved in the samprapti of the grahni doshas, according to Ayurveda:

Ama (a poisonous chemical) is created when digestion is hindered, or angimandya.

Ama builds up in the gastrointestinal system and aggravates the doshas (vata, pitta, and kapha), which obstructs the channels (srotas).

The obstruction causes the digestive fire (agni) to become vitiated, which impairs nutrient absorption and assimilation and causes irregular bowel movements.

Vataj Grahni (related to vata dosha), Pittaj Grahni (related to pitta dosha), and Kaphaj Grahni (related to kapha dosha) are a few examples of the grahni doshas that are caused by the vitiated doshas.

Lakshana

Depending on the dosha involved, the clinical characteristics of grahni doshas may vary, but some typical symptoms include:

Changes in bowel habits include constipation, diarrhoea, or alternating periods of the two.

Colicky or crampy discomfort in the belly is referred to as abdominal pain.

Triphala: Before going to bed, take 1-2 tablespoons of Triphala powder dissolved in warm water.

Fennel seeds: Fennel seeds can aid in reducing indigestion, gas, and bloating. After meals, chew on a teaspoon of fennel seeds or make fennel tea by steeping fennel seeds in hot water for ten minutes.

Cumin Seeds: Cumin seeds are yet another fantastic help to digestion. Cumin seeds should be roasted and then ground into a powder. Before meals, combine the powder with a grain of salt and drink warm water with it.

Aloe Vera: Aloe vera juice is well-known for its calming effects and can aid in reducing digestive system inflammation. On an empty stomach, consume half a cup of pure aloe vera juice in the morning.

Stress management: Digestive problems might get worse under stress. To lower your stress levels, try relaxing activities like yoga, meditation, or deep breathing exercises.

Diet

Dietary changes are essential for controlling Grahani Dosha. In general, warm, wet foods that are simple to digest are preferred. Examples include warmed herbal teas, easily absorbed grains like rice, and prepared vegetables. Foods that are greasy, heavy, or hot should be avoided.

Keep Hydrated: To support healthy digestion and avoid constipation, drink enough water throughout the day.

Yoga

Pawanmuktasana (Wind-Relieving Pose):

Lay backward with your legs extended.

Your right knee should be bent as you bring it up to your chest.

Gently wrap your hands around your knee and hold it to your chest.

For 30 to 1 minute, maintain this position while inhaling deeply.

After releasing the leg, repeat with the left knee.

This position improves digestion and eliminates bloating and gas.

Half Lord of the Fishes Pose, or Ardha Matsyendrasana, involves sitting on the ground with your legs extended in front of you.

Your right foot should be on the outside of your left leg, your right knee should be bent, and you should be standing straight.

Your left elbow should be on the outside of your right knee as you twist your torso to the right.

While inhaling deeply, maintain this posture for 30 to 60 seconds.

Keep on to the other side.

Improved digestion results from the stimulation of the digestive system and massage of the abdominal organs.

Vajrasana _ With your legs straight in front and your toes pointing backward, assume the Vajrasana, often referred to as the Thunderbolt Pose, and kneel on the ground.

Lean back while standing on your heels, hands on your thighs.

Straighten your back and keep your shoulders loose.

Hold this posture for five to ten minutes while inhaling deeply.

By reducing gas and easing constipation, this position encourages a healthy digestive system.
