Asanadiganam kashayam is an Ayurvedic medicine for obesity and hyperlipidemia. It can be used in any disease where fat metabolism is impaired. It is beneficial in reducing body weight and hyperlipidemia.
Benefits of Asanadiganam kashayam
It is used to treat many diseases with ama in abdomen or all over the body. It reverses the pathology of many auto-immune diseases if used in the early stage of disease pathology.
It is beneficial in many types of chronic skin diseases including psoriasis and vitiligo. It reduces itching, swelling and whitish discharge from the skin lesions.
As almost all drugs are tikta rasa and with rooksha property, this formulation does Rookshana in the body and helps to absorb unwanted kleda (moisture content) and regulates water and electrolyte balance. It is useful in some cases of swelling and water retention, too.
It helps reduce obesity, hyperlipidemia, diabetes and hypercholesterolemia.
It works as anthelmintic. Also, it is beneficial in Kapha-dominant anemia.

Details of the manufacturing of Asanadiganam kashayam
As already discussed, Asanadiganam kashayam has 23 ingredients.
All these ingredients should be washed well and dried up in shade.
Take equal quantity of all ingredients in dried & crushed form in an earthen pot. Now add 16 times clean water into it. Make it boil and then cook in the open vessel with low fire. Reduce the quantity into one by eighth of the initial quantity. Make sure to mix it in between with a wooden ladle. Also, the fire should be kept low to make sure that all the active ingredients in the herbs needed are absorbed well into the water. Once the quantity is reduced to one by eighth of the initial amount of water, remove the vessel from the fire. Squeeze and drain through a clean white cloth. Collect the decoction in a clean vessel and discard the solid waste. Drink the mild warm decoction.

Asanadiganam kashayam is Kapha-Pittahara and rookshana.

Dosage and Usage of Asanadiganam kashayam
Dosage: Two Pala ( 120 ml) This is the dosage of freshly prepared decoction. In the market, we are getting concentrated qwath and the dosage is 15 ml concentrated kashayam mixed with 45ml of boiled water twice daily before the food. Tablets are also available and the dosage is two tablets twice daily before the food.
Usage:
Kashayam is advised to take in empty stomach, once the ingested food is digested well and aahaararasa is formed well.
Usage of kashayam with prescribed prakshepadravyas according to the condition of disease and the patient gives the best results mostly.
Exercises and Yoga.
As Asanadiganam kashayam targets mainly drying up excess moisture and fat tissues, following regular exercises and specific yoga asanas like suryanamaskra, pavanamuktasana, vajrasana, bhujangasana etc for whole-body stretching and balance are recommended.
Regular exercise helps improve the bioavailability of the medicine and food ingested and leads to positive health.
