SIGNS AND SYMPTOMS OF GENITAL WARTS

  • Cauliflower shaped warts in the genital area
  • Itching around the warts
  • Warts may occur in the external genitals, vulva, cervix, shaft of penis, scrotum or anus

 CAUSES OF GENITAL WARTS

  • Genital wart is caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV)

 PATHOPHYSIOLOGY OF GENITAL WARTS

The disease is transmitted from one person to another through sexual intercourse. The virus causes bumps in the genital area. The virus penetrates the skin and mucous membrane in the genital area.

DIAGNOSIS OF GENITAL WARTS

Genital wart is considered as an agantuja vyadhi, because it is caused by the infection. When the virus enters into the body the doshas vitiated, which further vitiates the rakta, mamsa dhatus and produces the symptoms.

  • Proper hygiene
  • Use a condom during sexual intercourse
  • Avoid red meat, caffeine in the diet

YOGA FOR GENITAL WARTS

  • Nadi Shuddi Pranayama – gets relief from irritations associated with genital warts and provide overall immunity

The patient needs to be seated in a meditative posture with the head and spine erect, with the body relaxed. The patient has to close his one nostril (e.g. left nostril if using the right hand and vice versa) with the thumb and exhale completely through the other nostril. Again, he will have to breathe in deeply through the other nostril while the opposite nostril is still closed with the thumb.
